On Thursday, 9 May, Mr Bester and Mrs Haschke along with a team of educators and enthusiastic learners (Buhle Shabalala, Siyamethemba Shelembe and Langalihle Sikhakhane) worked very hard to finish the final arrangements for the first Mr and Miss DHS in many years. The stage was adorned with a balloon arch, two regal chairs and a catwalk that could have been used for the Golden Globes or Fashion Week. The panel of judges were ready to provide expert opinions on outfits, stage personality and various poses. Learners transformed into models who were almost unrecognisable in their beautiful outfits and confident gaits. We would like to congratulate the following winners: Mr DHS – Pieter Bester, Miss DHS: Amahle Ndawonde, First Prince: Sabelo Mqayi, First Princess: Bertha Nair, Second Prince: JC Botha, Second Princess: Asanda Shelembe, Public Choice: Sabelo Mqayi and Mawande Ntombela. Mawande Ntombela also won the Philanthropy and Congeniality titles. Minenhle Mahlinza won the title of Mr Congeniality and most photogenic boy was Olwethu Gumede and most photogenic girl went to Xane Husselman.
