Last week, learners from Dundee High School had the privilege of attending a live production of Othello by William Shakespeare — one of their prescribed dramatic texts.

Experiencing Shakespeare on stage offers far more than a reading of the printed page. The live performance allowed learners to engage deeply with the play’s timeless themes of jealousy, betrayal, manipulation and honour. Seeing the complex character of Othello unravel before their eyes brought new insight into the famous warning: “O, beware, my lord, of jealousy…”

The production captured the emotional intensity and moral conflict of the tragedy with clarity and power, making the text accessible, relevant and memorable for a modern audience. Performances such as these enrich classroom learning and strengthen critical engagement with literature.

A sincere thank you to Think Theatre for an outstanding performance that truly brought the drama to life.

As the play reminds us, “Men should be what they seem.”
