The prefect body of 2026 attended a leadership camp at ATKV Drakensville in the Drakensberg. The purpose of the trip was to build leadership skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare them for the responsibilities of the year ahead.
During the camp, they took part in various activities designed to challenge them physically and mentally. On Day 1, they did ziplining, the fatboy blob, and the blind man walk, which helped build trust and confidence. Day 2 included team-building activities, a muddy obstacle course, wall climbing, and archery, all of which encouraged communication, perseverance, and cooperation. On Day 3, they completed a 16 km hike to Tugela Falls, which tested their endurance and unity. On Day 4, they departed and returned to their hometowns.
The camp was highly beneficial as it pushed them out of their comfort zones and helped strengthen relationships within the prefect body. The best part was the hike to Tugela Falls, as reaching the destination together was extremely rewarding. The most challenging part was the physical and mental demands of the hike, but it taught them resilience and teamwork. It taught them to keep on pushing forward even though they felt like giving up.
Their vision for 2026 is to lead with unity, integrity, and commitment, and to serve the school community positively. Overall, the prefect group of 2026 proved to be supportive, determined, and ready to take on leadership roles with confidence. (Report by: Amahle Mabilisa)
