Our first game on tour was against Pongola Academy on Friday afternoon, 16 August. Batting first, we made 176 / 7 in 20 overs. With Heindre Smit 42 runs and Ryno Labuschagne 31 runs. Excellent bowling from Kiandri Bierbaum with 5 / 16 and Hein Muller 4 / 11 ensured that we bowled Pongola out for 34 and won the game with 142 runs. “Man of the Match” went to Kiandri Bierbaum. On Day 2, DHS played against Sarel Cilliers. Our opening batsman had an excellent start with an opening partnership of 165 runs between Dillan Guelpa (79 runs) and Stuart Talanda (66 runs). DHS ended on a total of 225/3 in 20 overs. Our bowlers limited Sarel to 139 / 4 in 20 overs. Hein Muller 2 / 25, Kiandri 1 / 16 and Tayrees du Preez 21/ 1. Dillan Guelpa was the “Man of the Match” for his 79 runs from 58 balls. During DHS’s last game on tour, we played Vryheid High, we had an excellent day in the field and limited Vryheid to 53 all out with Uzair Bhula 3 / 8, Hein Muller 3 / 10, Kiandri Bierbaum 2 / 7 and Stuart Talanda 1 /25. Our batsman scored 55 / 3 in 6 overs with Gideon Nel on 20* not out and Ryno Labuschagne 13* not out, top scoring to win the game with 7 wickets. “Man of the Match” Uzair Bhula for his 3 / 8.
