Well done to the following learners who were selected at the district expo to participate in the regional science expo that we held on Friday, 26 July.  Andiswa Shabalala (Gr11) received a gold medal. Her category was SOCIAL and her project was titled: “Teenagers’ attitudes towards contraceptives.” Lungile Mbokazi (Gr11) received a silver medal. His category was Physics and Astronomy where he invented an apparatus to investigate the movement of the track of the sun over 5 months compared to three specific stars.  Made astronomy concepts more accessible with affordable equipment for schools. Kwanele Mtshali (Gr11) received a highly commended certificate in the Animal Sciences category.  His project was titled: “Synthetic embryos derived from black rhino induced pluripotent stem cells.” Bongeka Mayisela (Gr10) received a silver medal for “A cure for a cure” where she investigated the influence of pill colour on consumption. 

It was a fantastic day of exploration for these young scientists, showcasing their talent and dedication to science. (Reported by Lungile Mbokazi)
